The ability to produce fluent, legible handwriting affects attainment in many areas of the curriculum. If a child struggles to master this vital skill the implications can be grave.
Consists of 2 pupil workbooks, Book 1 and Book 2, and a Teacher’s Handbook.
Write from the start offers a radically different approach that will guide a child through the various stages of perceptual and fine-motor development to lay the foundations for flowing, accurate handwriting. This approach has proved to be highly successful in a variety of contexts, and with children with a range of needs.
There are over 400 carefully graded activities in Write from the Start that develop the Intrinsic muscles of the hand alongside the following perceptual skills:
– hand-eye coordination
– form constancy
– spatial organisation
– figure-ground discrimination
– orientation and laterality
